Slaying a red dragon

23rd of Quen'pillar, 835 PD

The adventuring party resolved to face the dragon responsible for the troubles they had uncovered. Returning to the mountain, Whisper insisted on scouting ahead alone, though she returned shortly after, reporting unsettling sounds and intense heat emanating from within the dragon's lair. Despite a brief debate about attempting diplomacy with the dragon, Reeves reminded the group of the dragon's dangerous cult following, effectively ending the discussion.

Approaching the lair, Whisper cast a spell to help the group move quietly, but their advantage was quickly compromised by their noisy and uncoordinated entrance. Seizing what remained of their surprise, Reeves charged forward, leading the group into a swift but fierce battle against a young red dragon. The dragon was smaller than expected, its youth confirmed by scattered eggshell remnants and a single, intact egg discovered afterward.

After the battle, while the rest of the party searched the dragon's nest for treasure, Reeves began the laborious task of hauling the dragon's carcass outside, intending to butcher it. The group set up camp nearby, allowing Koro to rest and recall knowledge of dragons from her past lives, marking a rare moment of quiet after their fiery confrontation.
