Returning with a prisoner and freed captive

Interrogation yielded only zealous ramblings about a fire-salamander figure called Ishtar. When Koro’s attempt to mete out her “goddess’ judgement” misfired, the adventurers chose to haul the captive down-mountain for proper custody. They arrived at sunrise to a still-sleeping hamlet, returned the rescued woman to her oblivious husband, and handed the cultist to the local reeve under Koro’s brother’s guard. Evidence now suggested a dragon-worshipping cell hidden in the peaks—news as startling to the villagers as to the party.

During strategy talks tensions flared: Koro’s sweeping condemnations of the Empire and pointed remarks about Reeves’ past provoked a fierce argument over prejudice and moral hypocrisy, leaving Reeves questioning whether the job was worth the coin.

The next morning Reeves brooded alone until Koro approached with an unexpected olive branch—an apology of sorts and a proposal to keep travelling together, but without the mercenary pay arrangement. To test this new trust, Reeves laid down his weapons and revealed his full identity—Alaric von Falkenrath—and his family’s possible link to a Luxon beacon lost inside Empire borders. Neither Koro nor her Dynasty-born brother reacted with hostility, easing the immediate strain within the party while leaving larger loyalties and the looming “dragon cult” threat unresolved.
