AD&D Session 47 - Echoes of the Past and Present

20th Fessuran 835 PD
The party found themselves in a brutal battle against a group of specters and animated armors. Early in the fight, the tide turned against them as Bibi went down to a specter, despite Reeves’ efforts to protect her. The party struggled, but after a grueling exchange, Koro invoked her divine power to turn the undead and bring Koro back to her feet, shifting the battle in their favor. With the spirits vanquished, Koro declared their mission fulfilled—though the root cause of the recurring hauntings, likely tied to the Calamity, remained far beyond their ability to resolve at the moment. With that, they made their way back to Rosohna.

Back in Rosohna, Koro began making inquiries about finding a diplomat or representative to accompany them to the giant-occupied mines, hoping for a peaceful resolution. The group secured the assistance of Wacco, a half-orc noble from Den Icozrin, the mine's owners. With their envoy in tow, they set out for the mines.
Upon arriving at the Icozrin Steelworks near the mines, the party initially saw no sign of the giants—until a massive rock came hurtling toward them. Reeves immediately shouted for his companions to scatter and called out in Giant, urging their unseen foes to cease hostilities. In response, a single stone giant stepped forward to parley.
Reeves approached cautiously and engaged in conversation, learning that the giants were not invaders but refugees, the last survivors of their tribe. Their mountain home had been attacked, forcing them to flee in search of a new place to settle. They had no ill intent but sought to claim the mine as their new home. This, however, posed a dilemma—the mine owners, including their representative Wacco, would not accept cohabitation, particularly given the environmental destruction strip mining would bring.
Recognizing the complexity of the situation, Koro stepped forward as the lead negotiator, seeking an amicable solution while also honoring the tenuous peace between the Kryn Dynasty and the giants. With tensions simmering, the party agreed to bring the giants' plea before the Bright Queen, though Wacco remained visibly disgruntled by the turn of events.
