After exhausting mundane ways to open the ancient stone wall flanked by sealed sarcophagi, Koro deciphered the arcane circle in the floor and completed its ritual, sliding the door aside without triggering the suspected trap. The coffins were left untouched while Whisper scouted ahead and Reeves kept watch at the threshold. Moments later the quiet shattered: a lone cultist was found torturing an imprisoned woman. Although Koro’s hold person froze him, the fanatic still tried to raise the alarm and was cut down by Whisper and Reeves. Pressing forward, the party surprised a second group of cult-robed guards; the skirmish left Koro bruised but victorious, and Reeves knocked one assailant unconscious for questioning. The group withdrew a few chambers back, prisoner in tow, to interrogate him from a position of safety.
