A group of adventurers battling a giant automaton

7th Sydenstar 835 PD

The session began with Koro revealing that the captured Goliath was a commander of the Kryn Dynasty. Koro insisted on delivering her to the Dynasty for judgment rather than returning her to Hupperdook, as originally planned. The Goliath, intimidated by Koro’s status as a "Dusktalon"—a high-ranking enforcer of death sentence criminals—reluctantly shared her involvement in a plot led by a man named Stahlmast. Stahlmast, who freed her from prison, aimed to destroy the mountain above Hupperdook.

After a not so brief discussion, the party decided to confront Stahlmast directly. They reached his workshop, where they overheard metalwork, and Reeves led a breach-and-charge tactic. Upon entering, they were confronted by a massive automaton piloted by a human. While Reeves used his rune magic to grow to the automaton's size, the entire party joined forces in the battle, ganging up on the machine.

During the fight, the Goliath escaped but was pursued by Bibi, who killed her outside—potentially angering Koro, as the Goliath was someone she knew. Meanwhile, the party successfully destroyed the automaton. However, one of the fleeing Kobolds triggered an explosion, causing a cave-in that buried the Goliath’s body and blocked their only exit. As Reeves and Rico tried to clear the debris, Koro discovered a hidden door, and the session ended with the party struggling to open it.
