The party’s attempt at a stealthy approach faltered when both Koro and Rico slipped into the water below. With the element of surprise lost, Reeves and Koro formed a shield wall and pushed forward into the tunnels. At a narrow fork, Reeves held one passage while Koro moved ahead, only to trigger a trapdoor. After some quick tinkering, Koro escaped the trap, and Rico disarmed it along with others further down the tunnel.

As Rico worked on the traps, kobolds ambushed the party, firing arrows from the shadows. While the group dispatched the kobolds, Reeves remained at the fork to prevent a flank. After securing the area, the group doubled back to clear the passage Reeves had been guarding. Reeves’ attempt to kick down a door alerted enemies on the other side. The door swung open, revealing a female goliath and two kobolds. Koro, recognizing the goliath, broke formation to address her, using a title unknown to Reeves. The goliath surrendered upon Koro's command, while the rest of the group finished off the kobolds.
