AD&D Session 33 - The Final Push in Hupperdook

After some searching, Whisper finally discovered the hidden mechanism that opened a secret door, leading the party through a tunnel to an underground prison. Inside, they found two prisoners: a gnome chemist who had been abducted for her knowledge of blackpowder, and the bounty hunter the party previously encountered during the jailbreak incident. Koro took time to bond with the prisoners, though Reeves reminded the group that Stahlmast had likely planted explosives all over the mountain, and they could detonate at any moment. Despite the late hour, the group made their way back without delay.

Arriving in Hupperdook at dawn, the gates were still closed, but after explaining the imminent danger, the group was allowed entry, and a messenger was sent to inform their employer of the findings. Reeves successfully negotiated an additional 50 gold pieces each for delivering both Stahlmast and his plans regarding the explosives. With the task complete, they returned to Rico’s home for some much-needed rest. Rico’s parents were clearly displeased with his involvement in dangerous adventures, though Reeves was too exhausted to linger for the conversation. Later, Koro invited Reeves to a circus performance she had tickets for, but he declined, choosing to recover from the tiring journey.
