7th Sydenstar, 835 PD

The session begins with the party arriving at the blackpowder worker's house, where Bibi knocks on the door. A woman inside shouts, claiming to be sick and refusing help. However, Bibi convinces her to let them in, offering aid. Inside, the house is dark and filled with broken furniture, setting Reeves on edge. He warns the group to stay alert, while he and Rico remain near the entrance.

Suddenly, a group of kobolds ambushes them, revealing that even the woman was a disguised kobold. The battle is fierce, and the kobolds explode after death, adding an extra layer of danger. One manages to flee through a window, and Reeves urges Whisper to chase it down. Her speed allows her to catch up, and with Reeves' help, they subdue the creature just as city guards arrive. Presenting the guards with their writ from the city watch, they investigate the house but find no evidence of recent habitation. A follow-up at the woman’s employer yields only frustration, as the employer dismisses her absence, valuing money over missing workers.

After a brief rest, the party follows a lead from a note found in the house, pointing to a nearby waterfall. Reeves, aware of a competing bounty hunter, suggests they act quickly. At the waterfall, they find tracks leading up a rock wall. Reeves and Whisper climb the wall, discovering a hidden chimney that suggests a cave behind the waterfall. As they prepare to investigate further, Koro slips, her armor making a loud noise. Voices inside the cave fall silent, leaving the group tense and frozen.
