AD&D Session 5 - Shadows of the Truscan Mausoleum

The party conducts a final scouting of the Truscan manor in Daestok. Their quest leads them to a graveyard at night, searching for a secret entrance to the Truscan estate. Serene, a Water Genasi Divination Wizard investigating Delon's murder, also probing the Truscans due to their recent odd behavior, coincidentally joins the party. A fumbled stealth approach by Serene leads to her detection by the group, but she swiftly redirects their attention to their shared goal.
The party discovers a hidden door in the mausoleum, leading to a dirt tunnel. Here, Koro inadvertently triggers a magic rune, releasing zombies from the dirt walls. After a straightforward battle with the zombies, the group enters a cellar-like room with a row of wooden coffins containing recent corpses with vampire bite marks. An attempt to impale the bodies awakens a vampire spawn, leading to a brief but intense skirmish, which began with Koro's mishap and ended with minor injuries to the party.
Hearing footsteps, the party hides and witnesses humans dropping off a fresh corpse, hinting at a larger vampire presence. Opting for discretion, they decide against confronting a potential full-fledged vampire, instead taking a vampire's head as evidence. Koro suggests involving her mysterious organization, which claims neutrality and aims to work for the common good. The session concludes with the party's strategic retreat from the cellar, carrying crucial evidence of the Truscan family's sinister secrets.
