The drow ambush at the rope lift opened with a devastating volley of magic from their wizard, nearly dropping one of the party before the fight had properly begun. The group recovered quickly. Whisper cut through the attackers with several precise strikes, Enikas used invisibility to gain an advantage, and Draxan threw himself into the battle with repeated invocations of Kord. By the end, the party had slain roughly half of the drow along with their drider companion, while the survivors withdrew into the darkness.

With the immediate threat gone, the evacuation resumed. The remaining refugees were ferried up the rope lift, and after only a short walk the travellers finally emerged into genuine daylight, bringing their long journey through the Underdark to an end.

Once outside, the refugees discussed what to do next. Some chose to remain in the region and seek a place to establish a new settlement in the forests around the Othemoor. Others continued southwest with the party, intending to reach the main road and follow it south towards Nicodranas.

Their route took them past the Othemoor and into the unfamiliar landscape of the Menagerie Coast. Along the way, Bibi and Whisper took the opportunity to gather samples of the local flora and herbs, although the two likely had rather different uses in mind for their respective collections.

After several days of travel, filled with unfamiliar colours, scents and scenery unlike the lands they had crossed before, the party and accompanying refugees reached Feolinn. Days of marching left the travellers looking distinctly out of place among the locals, so one of their first priorities upon entering the city was simple: find the nearest bathhouse and make themselves presentable again.
